Summer comes with summer vacation but it also comes with its own troubles. In the early month of April, the temperature will hover around 34-39 degrees celsius. In mid-May June when summer will be at its peak the mercury touches 45-48 degrees celsius in many parts of the country.

So, why not we better prepare for it in advance.

In this article, we will discuss very simple yet effective tips to beat the bad effect of summer heat. And the good thing is that you only need some raw mangoes.

What is heatstroke?

Heatstroke or sunstroke can happen when an individual is exposed to heat for too long.

If our body becomes too hot and loses water and salt from the body, leading to tiredness, weakness and muscle cramps. This is referred to as heat exhaustion. If the body loses the ability to maintain the correct temperature and it becomes exceptionally high, this is referred to as heatstroke.

In heatstroke one may feel:

  1. Nausea and vomiting.
  2. Lightheadedness.
  3. Headache.
  4. Body temperature increases.
  5. Breathing becomes slower.
  6. Increase heart beat.

I can’t say about another town, but here in our Rourkela (Odisha), with the advancement of summer, you will find many roadside stalls selling burned raw mango juice.

It’s very simple to make. Anyone can make it at home and relish it.

Here is the step by step process to make it.

Ingredients

  1. Raw green Mangos.
  2. Sugar.
  3. Black Salt.
  4. Salt to taste.
  5. Water.
  6. Roasted Cumin seeds.

Method

  1. Burn raw mango direct to the heat till it turns black. You can do it on your normal gas stove.
  2. Allow it to cool down and then peel off very cautiously and get the pulp.
  3. Smashed or grind the pulp.
  4. Add water to the required amount.
  5. Add black salt, sugar and roasted cumin powder to it and stir it well.
  6. Top it with ice cubes and serve it chilled.

Conclusion.

There is a popular phrase, “prevention is better than cure”. What I mean is if you drink this juice before going outdoor, it will help you to cope with the excess heat outside. So, keep extra burned mangoes inside your refrigerator and prepare them and bring them just before moving outside.

These are very effective home tips and a delicious natural cold drink. It can help prevent heat stroke, but still, you are advised to take more precautions when stepping outdoor in summer.
