Muscle and Bone Pain

In Muscle and bone pain we have discussed everything related to muscle pain (including ligament and tendon) and bone pain (including fracture and dislocation).

Bone pain

Bone pain is usually deep, penetrating, or dull. It commonly results from injury. Other less common causes of bone pain include bone infection (osteomyelitis) and tumours.

Fracture and dislocation

We have also covered topics related bone fracture and dislocation and postoperative rehabilitation protocol and physiotherapy. Like tibia fracture and shoulder dislocation.

Muscle pain

Muscle pain is also known as myalgia is often less intense than bone pain. For example, a muscle spasm or cramp in the neck can lead to the neck stiffness or muscle pain after exercises. Pain can occur when a muscle is affected by an injury, loss of blood flow to the muscle, infection, or a tumor.

Tendon and ligament pain

Common tendon pain includes Tennis elbow, Golfers elbow, tendinitis, tenosynovitis and tendon injuries. The most common ligament pain is ACL or Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.

Joint pain

Joint pain may or may not be related to joint inflammation. Inflammation of joint is called as called arthritis. Arthritis may cause swelling as well as pain. There many types of arthritis but commonest of them is Knee osteoarthritis.

Other types of arthritis are Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout.
