And let me give you a hint: “It’s straightforward to use.” So, without delay, allow us to begin.
How to use digital BP machine (Dr Morepen) at home
But before we move forward, I have something to tell you. In this article, I will discuss the automatic “Dr Morepen bp01”. You can go through this article, “Ultimate Blood Pressure Monitor Buying Guide for You” to get one for your home. But, the basic principle and the process would remain the same for all other manufacturers. So, you need not worry if you have this gadget made by different manufacturers.
When you open the Dr Morepan BP01 box, you get these 4 items.
- Arm cuff: An arm cuff is an air-inflatable cuff that can be placed over the arm. It is inflatable, and air is transferred through the air tube. It also has an air jack at the end of the air tube.
- Four pencil batteries are needed to power the gadget. You can also use a power adaptor. However, the adaptor does not have the box; you must buy it outside.
- User manual
- Central unit: The main unit consists of calibration and display.
Now, let us jump to the actual steps of taking the BP reading.
Steps to use digital blood pressure monitor at home
Using digital blood pressure monitor is very easy, just follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Setting up your gadget
Setting up the digital blood pressure is very easy. First, you need to place batteries into the battery slot. It is provided on the backside; remove the cover and put 4 batteries in. On the left side of the central unit, there is a slot to connect the arm cuff. One end of the rubber tube has a jack; just put the jack in this slot firmly, and the arm cuff is now connected via air tube.
Step 2: Sit in the correct position
1. Ensure the air plug is securely inserted into the central unit.
2. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper left arm.
3. Sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor.
Place your left arm on a table so the cuff aligns with your heart.
4. Hold the thumb grip on the cuff securely with your right hand.
Step 3: Connecting arm cuff with arm
1. Turn the palm of your left hand upward.
2. Apply the cuff to your left upper arm so the blue stripe is on the inside of your arm and aligned with your middle finger. The air tube runs down the inside of your arm. The bottom of the cuff should be approximately 1/2″ above your elbow.
3. Wrap the cuff firmly around your arm using the cloth fastener.
Step 4: Take the reading
Press the power button to turn on the machine. Once you have done so, air will be pumped inside the arm cuff. You will feel the air pressure over the arm and see changes in numbers on the display.
Once the machine calculates the exact measurement of BP, the air from the inflated arm cuff is slowly released. Here, you get your reading. But you need to analyse this reading. The home blood pressure monitor will display three numerical readings.

Things to avoid before taking measurement
To ensure a reliable reading, follow these recommendations:
- Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Rest for at least 15 minutes before taking the measurement.
- Stress raises blood pressure. Avoid taking measurements during stressful times.
- Measurements should be taken in a quiet place.
- Remove tight-fitting clothing from your arm.
- Sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is the same level as your heart.
- Remain still and do not talk during the measurement.
- Keep a record of your blood pressure and pulse readings for your physician. A single measurement may not accurately indicate your accurate blood pressure. You need to take and record several readings over some time. Try to consistently measure your blood pressure at about the same time each day.
Final word
When you take your blood pressure reading, you will receive two numbers: the systolic pressure and the diastolic pressure. The systolic pressure is the top number, which indicates the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart beats or contracts. The diastolic pressure is the bottom number, which indicates the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart is resting between beats.
For instance, if your systolic reading is 125 and your diastolic reading is 83, then your final blood pressure reading would be 125/83. This reading is important to know, as it helps you understand your blood pressure levels and whether they fall within the healthy range.
To make monitoring your blood pressure easier, I highly recommend having a reliable blood pressure monitor at home, such as Dr Morepen’s BP monitor. With this device, you can quickly and easily check your blood pressure levels at any time, allowing you to take better care of yourself and your loved ones.
