Coronavirus Drinking, spraying alcohol is of no help, WHO warns

WHO, world health organization has debunked the myth that is making rounds on the internet which claims that consuming alcohol or spraying alcohol and or chlorine over the body will protect us from the coronavirus attack.

Till date more than lakhs of people have been affected by this deadly virus and after China Italy is the most affected country. With the speed, it is spreading so do the rumors and myth related to it.

We should not blindly beleive all the information related to COVID-19 and stay alert. Here is what the WHO has to say about this and several other myth.

World Health Organization on its website clearly nullifies this myth of alcohol and chlorine spray to protect onself from the coronvirus.

Here is the exact statement and graphic fro WHO:

“No. Spraying alcohol or chlorine all over your body will not kill viruses that have already entered your body. Spraying such substances can be harmful to clothes or mucous membranes (i.e. eyes, mouth). Be aware that both alcohol and chlorine can be useful to disinfect surfaces, but they need to be used under appropriate recommendations.”

  • Taking a hot bath can prevent coronavirus.
  • Coronavirus can transmit from goods imported from china or the affected country.
  • Coronavirus transmits from the mosquito.

To protect ourselves from this deadly virus, the right information is very crucial. We must take care when we sneeze, cough and learning the sign and symptoms can make us make an informed decision to visit the doctor at the earliest.
