covid vaccine

On 19th May 2021, I and my family took the COVID vaccine here in Jharkhand. However, in our booth there was a very low turnout for vaccination due to apprehension, this made me share my experience with you all after receiving the first dose of the COVID vaccine.

Please read this article till the end so that you can get some idea of what I felt immediately after vaccination and next after it. This will motivate you to take a good decision for your’s and your family’s health.

COVID vaccine drive for 18-45 years

From the first week of May 2021, the Govt of India announced COVID vaccination of 18-45 years of age. Due to the unprecedented covid situation and sudden lockdown, I temporarily shifted to my hometown here in Jharkhand to spend the rest of my lockdown days.

It was the 19th of May when the Jharkhand govt announced vaccination of the 18-45 years population. So, we suddenly made our decision to get vaccinated.

Due to apprehension, there was a very low turnout of the beneficiaries on the first day at our vaccination booth. We were almost a total of 12-13 attendants and we all got ourselves online registered on the spot. Within few minutes our slot was booked at that booth on the same day after roughly half an hour.

My turn for vaccination

After every one of us got registered the staff of the booth prepared for vaccination. One by one every one of us was receiving our first dose of vaccine. Finally, my turn also arrived, as any normal individual I to was a little apprehensive, not of the vaccine but the discomfort of needle piercing.

As I entered the chamber, there was another step for the registration process that I need to complete. The person on the registration desk asked for an OTP that was generated and delivered on my mobile at that very moment.

In the meantime I observed the nurse preparing syringe and needle filling it with vaccine from a tiny vial. As the registration process finshed, they directed me to sit straight on a wooden chair and expose the outer bulky part of left upper arm.

The nurse carefully pierces the needle on that left upper arm leaving me with a slight feeling of a pinch. Surprisingly, the feeling of injection was similar to any other injection, it was a comfortable pinch that anyone can bear.

As my turn finishes, they made a call for the next participant, and finally, outside the chamber, another staff entered my detail and signature, a kind of attendance register. After every one of us got vaccinated, I tried to capture their opinion so that I can make an awareness video to motivate others to go for the vaccine.

COVID-19 Vaccine are Safe| Honest Appeal to Go for it

How I felt after COVID vaccination

Within an hour every one of us completed our whole process and returned to our home with a feeling of accomplishment. It was absolutely normal on the same day.

As I have heard from other beneficiaries, the next morning I was feeling a little dull with slight weakness. I also felt a headache and body aches that made my day a little uncomfortable. But, again these effects are quite normal and have been observed on many other recipients of the vaccine.

The next morning we all wake up absolutely normal, all the headaches, body ache, weakness, and discomfort vanished. We were back to our normal life and activities.
