According to Times Of India report, Chinese airport, stations, ferry services, public transport in 3 cities are shut, Lunar year celebration canceled to stop spreading of this deadly virus.
But, what is this coronavirus, what are symptoms and how we can protect ourselves from it? Let’s try to find out.

How to save yourself from coronavirus
By following the simple tips, we all can prevent ourselves from coronavirus. BUt let us first have a gist of what actually is coronavirus, its sign and symptoms. If you learn its sign and symptoms you can alert yourself.
What is coronavirus?
According to WHO Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Respiratory Syndrome and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.
What makes coronvirus more deadly is its zoonotic characteristic, which means it can transmit between human and animals.
Recent research published on a Chinese journal SCIENCE CHINA life sciences claims that a new strain of coronavirus that emerged in China may have originated in bats or snakes.
Most coronaviruses spread the same way other cold-causing viruses do: through infected people coughing and sneezing, by touching an infected person’s hands or face, or by touching things such as doorknobs that infected people have touched.
Commons signs of coronavirus infection
The symptoms of most coronavirus infection is similar to other respiratory infection such as:
- Running nose,
- Sore throat,
- Fever,
- Cough,
- Difficulty in breathing.
- In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.
How to prevent coronavirus infection
Following simple precautionary measures, one can prevent infection from this deadly virus. Here’s the list of precaution recommended by WHO:
- Basic hand hygiene: Frequently wash their hands with soap and warm water.
- When sneezing, sneeze on your flexed elbow covering your mouth.
- Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever or a cough.
- Seek early medical help if they have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, and share their travel history with healthcare providers
- Avoid unnecessary contact with live animals, if at all, wash your hands thoroughly after contact with the animal.
- Avoid eating raw or undercooked animal products and exercise care when handling raw meat, milk or animal organs to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods
