Your back pain can be sometimes very severe or it can be a mild irritating type that confuses you about what to be done at home. 1# Rest is important to relieve back pain
So the first point I would like to cover is rest, rest is very important if you have severe back pain. Perhaps your doctor must have advised you to bed rest for a few days or a week. Actually, rest allows the internal injuries to heal, it helps to relieve inflammation and swelling.
Bed rest in such a terrible pain is necessary, but the thing is you can not always remain in bed. You also need to do toilet activity, your minimum daily chorus. That is why localizing the rest at the lower back by wearing a lumbar belt around the waist is important.
The lumbar belt sometimes called a back pain belt is a corset that is wrapped around the painful back so as to prevent any kind of motion there. This way it helps to localize the rest in the lumbar area promoting healing and reduction of inflammation is swelling.

But out of all these heating devices, my favourite method is the use of infrared lamps. An infrared lamp is simply and lamps with an infrared bulb that emits red colour light giving a comfortable warmth. Just plug it and it is ready to use, apply it over your painful area for 5-10 minutes for maximum benefit.

4# TENS/ Nerve stimulation
TENS or in simple terms “nerve stimulation” is also and very effective way to instantly control lower back pain. The nerve stimulation is applied through a portable TENS machine which is very easy to use. It is a portable battery-operated device that you can keep in your pocket and use anywhere anytime.
In its application, It gives you a massage kind of effect or a soothing tingling type of sensation, it works on the principle of Pain Gate Theory to relieve the pain instantly.
5# Physiotherapy for low back pain

Sleeping posture is very important when you are suffering from very severe pain. In general, we don’t recommend using a very soft mattress to sleep which is not good for the back and neck.
So, if you have severe pain, there are three different sleeping postures you can adopt. Whether you want to sleep on your back, on your tummy, or on your side, you can modify your sleeping posture by arranging the pillows (as you can see in the figure).
